A Glimpse at Life in Gwangju

We’ve finally had some warm weather here in Korea, and so on one of the first nice days, Matt and I decided to explore our city a little more. Gwangju is a suburb of Seoul, in the province of Gyeonggi-do (not to be confused with the very large city called Gwangju in the South Jeolla Province). It has a population of 267,207, which most Koreans consider a small city.

Up until this point, we’ve been pretty bad about taking pictures in Gwangju because we aren’t in tourist mode as much as we are in Seoul. But the sun and warm breezes were inspiring, so here are some images of our little town. Enjoy!

Your little town looks very pretty! Its cool that you know the population too…I’ve been struggling to find out what it is in our town but I’m intrigued!

Thanks! I just googled it to find the population, but I can imagine that wouldn’t work as well for a smaller town! Do any of your co-teachers know the population?
